Ruth Allen
Ruth Allen has had an extensive career in glass art spanning over 30 years, stemming from when she graduated from the Canberra School of Art in 1993 with a Bachelor of Glass. Ruth has exhibited, taught and participated in glass workshops across the globe.
Due to her active involvement within the arts community, she became President of the New Zealand Society of Artists in Glass (NZSAG). As president, she developed an educational programme, titled 'Pacific Light’, which aimed to showcase national and international glass artists.
Ruth eventually returned to Melbourne and continued her studies, graduating with a Masters of Fine Art (Sculpture & Glass) from Monash University in 2006. Ruth and her partner purchased a well-equipped studio in Melbourne in 2010, where she works tirelessly to develop her glassmaking and to nobly create a space where artists can actualise their visions.
